I met Chrysalis IRL, back when her kids were “still sticky” as our mutual friend Sara likes to put it. She’s been to the mainland a couple of times since I met her, and I think this is her second go round at mainland life. Kaimuki grad, married to a military person, 2 kids, into robotics, makeup artist, cute dog. Weirdly I think I went to one of her high school reunions, even though I never went to high school in Hawaii. Anyway, meet the Reynas and experience their life on the mainland during Christmas 2018. Oh, and if you spot it, she took a pic of the infamous Christmas tree, the one that was so half arsed decorated it went schmall kine viral over Christmas.
This one is a little strange, I met Pixie’s brother years ago when he worked for a local PR company and they organized an influencers’ get together. Flash forward a few years, after making fun of teaming up to make fun of him and another mutual friend online. We became friends on facebook, and now we’re friends IRL.
To celebrate the third* anniversary of #Holohololens we go back to our first ever holoholo lenser. Please welcome the return of Shireen, in Las Vegas.
Here’s my instagram friend @hey_mikey_ he had the camera during the early part of summer, and took it with him to a whole bunch of amusement parks.
Well that turned out to be a bigger gap and gallery than I was expecting, but here it is, the second half of Alyssa's month with Holoholo lens. Yes those are camels, and yes that's the tower from Doctor Who. Thanks again Alyssa and Laurie! You two are cool.
Ok I admit, I got a bit overwhelmed with this one, BUT it means this is going to be a two parter! Anyway meet Alyssa, she lives in Orgeon and I met her in Seattle if you can believe a few years back. She had the holoholo lens camera and took it gallivanting around the world (semi literally), enjoy part one of her gallery.

What do you miss about Hawaii? I miss Hawaii's food, hands down.

Where do you plan to take the camera? Plan to take the camera to school.
Alani represents the second half of the double header from last year that my friend Sara set me up with. I actually haven't met Alani before, but from her pictures, and my emails with her she's really nice. Long story short, mid way thru 2017, I was running out of people to send the orange box too and I reached out to people to see if they had any leads for me. Sara said she had two people in mind, enter Kristy and Alani's double header months. Alani lives in San Francisco (so jelly) and has a cool dog that reminds me of the dog from cowboy bebop. Anyway enjoy her pictures, they pick up right after Sara's birthday party in NYC.
Here's another deviation from standard operating procedures. I got introduced to Kristy thru our mutual friend Sara (aka Sarakata on twitter), and instead of mailing the orange case out to her she picked it up from me over lunch here in Honolulu. To add to the "deviation from SOP", this time the orange case did a double header, at some point our traveling little camera got hot potato-ed over to another friend on the mainland. She's in the pics and if you can guess who she is, you win... the satisfaction of knowing you were right. Her gallery comes up after Christmas but for now, meet Kristy.
This one a little different, Kristi had an unplanned to Hawaii pop up during her month. Instead of delaying or working in a weird break, we kind of decided it would be cool to get a "kama`aina comes home" gallery. I must say, it turned out really cool. Also gave me a chance to meet her in real life for the first time, up until this project were pure cyber buddies, even though we both lived in WA simultaneously for a little while. Anyway check out her full gallery below, it's fricking beautiful. Oh yeah, she's a super extraordinary photographer so everything is just plain gorgeous.
